Celebrating Sincere Artistic Missteps
Founded in 1994 by Scott Wilson after retrieving a painting titled Lucy in the Field with Flowers from a trash heap, the Museum of Bad Art dedicated itself to collecting and exhibiting works of art whose technical flaws or bizarre concepts make them unintentionally captivating.
Strict Curatorial Standards
Contrary to popular belief, MOBA rejects deliberate kitsch or poorly made novelty crafts. To be accepted into MOBA's permanent collection, an artwork must be created with serious artistic intent, yet fail dramatically in execution, perspective, or anatomy.
